New Family Health Services Clinic in Shoshone
SHOSHONE, IDAHO — Family Health Services (FHS) is expanding affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health services to the people of Shoshone as a result of the collaborative effort between FHS, Shoshone Family Medical Center (SFMC), Lincoln County Commissioners, and the City of Shoshone. Dr. Keith Davis opened the SFMC nearly 37 years ago, and has invited FHS to transition the care of his patients and staff on August 1, 2022.
New Facility and Expansion Details
Currently, FHS will offer medical services at 113 S. Apple St., and will expand their services to include dental and behavioral health once a new clinic is constructed on South Beverly Street. Lincoln County Commissioners and the City of Shoshone have agreed to lease the land for the new clinic, and Congressman Mike Simpson secured funding to support the construction of a helipad and 4-unit ambulance bay that will be attached to the facility. FHS received a Health Resources and Services Administration Grant (HRSA) to construct the new clinic, and they selected Laughlin Ricks Architecture and Starr Corporation to design and build the 11,200-square-foot facility.
Regional Impact and Services
This will be the 11th addition to FHS’s network of clinics that are built to serve all patients, regardless of their age, background, insurance status, or ability to pay. The expansion into Lincoln County will allow FHS to bridge the gap in care that exists between their clinics in Cassia, Blaine, and Jerome County, with the goal of offering more accessible and affordable healthcare for the people of South Central Idaho.
