Emory & Henry School of Health Sciences: Preparing Healthcare Professionals
The School of Health Sciences at Emory & Henry was launched in 2014 with the goal of preparing compassionate, patient-centered, highly-skilled healthcare professionals who not only provide quality health care to their patients but also actively engage in leadership and service opportunities within their professional organizations and communities. As Emory & Henry President Jake Schrum stated, “This facility symbolizes our belief that strong communities begin with healthy, happy people who are served by highly qualified healthcare professionals.”
Academic Programs and Clinical Facilities
The School of Health Sciences includes two undergraduate programs housed primarily on the Emory campus, undergraduate nursing programs and four graduate programs at the Health Sciences Campus in Marion. To support these programs, the campus features specialized facilities and services such as:
- Clinical Simulation Lab
- Anatomy Laboratory
- Falls Prevention Center
- Illness Surveillance (including COVID-19 and Influenza)

Student Success and Professional Development
Many students are finding a creative way to combine their love of science with their concern for others. For instance, Dr. Will Bodfish is making connections at the E&H School of Health Sciences, while other students have already landed significant roles in the medical field:
- Marley Sterling: Lands career working in intensive care unit at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
- Emilie Fink: To pursue a career as a pediatrics nurse.
- Lindy Robins and Amy Meister: Both will be attending the Emory & Henry School of Health Sciences occupational therapy program.
Additionally, Jamelyn Gillespie, a self-described “science person” who also loves to help people, recently opened a massage therapy clinic in Marion.
