Springs Urgent Care Relocation and Regional Healthcare Access
Springs Urgent Care has officially relocated after more than two decades at The Springs Health Centre. Their new spot is at 4551 Springhill Drive off KY 54. In 2022, Owensboro Health acquired The Springs Health Centre, which has since been renamed the Owensboro Healthplex. Officials with Springs Urgent Care said their lease was not renewed, prompting the move.
New Facility Enhancements and Patient Flow
“We got lucky with the new spot,” said Randy Seidehamel, PA-C and partner at Springs Urgent Care. It was originally set up almost like a mini-ER, which made it perfect for the clinic. He said the new space features several enhancements, including:
- Improved parking and enhanced accessibility.
- Updated wiring and a modern fire and security system.
- Nurse call buttons in every room.
- Dimmable lighting to better accommodate patients with migraines or other light-sensitive conditions.
“Our patient flow is much better here,” Seidehamel said. “Even though we were at a busy intersection, the entrances and exits are laid out better, and patients seem to appreciate it.” Angela Sands, a longtime staff member, added that “the new building is beautiful and updated with everything we need for better patient flow.”
Comprehensive Medical Services
Springs Urgent Care primarily treats minor illnesses and injuries such as cuts, scrapes, broken bones, and back pain. More serious conditions, such as head injuries or complicated abdominal pain, are typically referred to a hospital emergency department. The clinic is open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering services such as:
- Drug screenings and Department of Transportation physicals.
- Minor surgical procedures.
- Weight loss management including semaglutide injections.
- Lab services and diagnostic services.
The clinic accepts all major insurance providers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Affairs (VA) insurance. No appointment is necessary.
Regional Urgent Care Locations and Specialized Testing
Beyond the Owensboro area, other providers offer similar convenient access to high-quality care. In & Out Urgent Care provides personable, affordable and convenient care to patients who need treatment of non life-threatening conditions in locations such as Covington, Mandeville, Metairie, and New Orleans. Their main goal is to treat you quickly with quality care so that you can move on with your day.
Additionally, PhysicianOne Urgent Care provides screening and testing every day at all 23 locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York. This includes drive-through COVID-19 testing sites for patients pre-registered through a Virtual Visit. Licensed healthcare providers test patients who have completed a medical evaluation prior to the event.

Strategic Community Presence
Staying on the east side of Owensboro was a strategic choice for Springs Urgent Care, given their established patient base across east Daviess County, including Whitesville, Philpot, and Fordsville. “We’re just 1.8 miles from the old location, but it makes a big difference for patients who want to avoid traffic congestion on 54,” Seidehamel said. This new chapter allows the clinic to continue growing and meeting the needs of patients after 21 years of service.
