Virtual Care Details
Get the abortion pill on the go. If you have a MyChart account with Planned Parenthood Great Rivers and have an Illinois address, you can get the abortion pill through an E-visit in your account. Simply log in to your MyChart account, select “E-visit,” submit your health questionnaire responses to be reviewed by a clinician, and get your medication mailed to you in discreet, plain packaging. This option is for patients up to 10 weeks pregnant. We accept insurance and self-pay for E-visits.
Regarding the Planned Parenthood Direct app, we offer the abortion pill for patients in Illinois. Simply download the app, submit your health questionnaire responses, and get your medication mailed to you. This option is for patients up to 10 weeks pregnant. To qualify, you must have an Illinois address. This option is self-pay only. You cannot use insurance.

Is there a mandatory waiting period before I can have an abortion? In Illinois and Missouri, there is no mandatory waiting period or mandated counseling prior to an abortion. Does my partner have any legal say in my decision regarding a pregnancy? No. Your partner cannot legally interfere with your decision-making regarding a pregnancy. If I'm Medicaid eligible, can Medicaid pay for my abortion? In Illinois, Medicaid may pay for all or most medically necessary abortions. In Missouri, Medicaid does not cover abortion, except in very rare, limited circumstances. For minors, Illinois does not require consent or notice from a parent or legal guardian. In Missouri, minors must have consent from a parent/guardian to get an abortion, and the parent/guardian must be present at the appointment.
