Pregnancy Options and Medical Support
When you become pregnant, you have several options: parenting, adoption, or abortion. Staff will help identify and explore all options available so that you can make the decision that is right for you. Our employed licensed medical professionals and trained patient advocates will treat you with respect and answer your questions without judging your choices.
Counseling and education are available to you and your family before and after an abortion. This includes providing medically accurate reproductive health care information including, but not limited to birth control methods and prenatal care. Women’s Clinic of Atlanta Services
For over 20 years, the Women’s Clinic of Atlanta has provided compassionate support and holistic medical care to women considering abortion and seeking sexual health care. Women’s Clinic of Atlanta offers a variety of sexual health services to women who are 49 years of age or younger. We provide pre- and post-abortion assessments, pregnancy services, STI testing and treatment, and additional sexual health services. Licensed nurse practitioners are on staff at both of our clinics, and OB/GYN, Dr. Bret is the Medical Director who oversees all the services provided.
It is important to note that Women’s Clinic of Atlanta does not provide medical or surgical abortion, or refer for medical or surgical abortions. However, Abortion Screening provides all of the medically recommended services free of charge, to receive an abortion by an abortion provider. Furthermore, Women’s Clinic of Atlanta does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
Abortion Services at Planned Parenthood Great Rivers
Planned Parenthood Great Rivers provides abortion in Fairview Heights, Illinois, and at our Central West End health center in St. Louis, Missouri. We provide medication and procedural (in-clinic) abortion services at our southern Illinois location. In Illinois, abortion is safe & legal, and we provide abortion up to 27 weeks of pregnancy. In Missouri, you can access procedural abortion up to 18 weeks of pregnancy in St. Louis at our Central West End health center.
Medication Abortion and Virtual Care Options
A medication abortion with the abortion pill can be done up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. We offer medication abortion three ways: at our Fairview Heights, IL, location; through an E-visit in your MyChart account (for patients with an Illinois address); or through Planned Parenthood Direct, an app that allows you to get abortion pills mailed to you. Virtual care options such as E-visits and the Planned Parenthood Direct app are available for patients up to 10 weeks pregnant with an Illinois address.
Legal and Financial Considerations
In Illinois and Missouri, there is no mandatory waiting period or mandated counseling prior to an abortion. Additionally, your partner cannot legally interfere with your decision-making regarding a pregnancy. Regarding financial assistance, in Illinois, Medicaid may pay for all or most medically necessary abortions. In Missouri, Medicaid does not cover abortion, except in very rare, limited circumstances.
