Stand with Abortion Now: Protecting and Expanding Access in Central Florida
Stand with Abortion Now (S.W.A.N.) is a grassroots organization established in June of 2022 directly after the destruction of Roe vs Wade by the fascist Supreme Court. S.W.A.N. exists solely to protect and expand abortion access within Central Florida. We are explicitly anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-sexist, pro-LGBTQ, and class conscious.
The Role of Clinic Escorts
We are abortion clinic escorts and defenders in Orlando, FL. Clinic escorting is a long-standing tradition to counteract misogynistic right-wing protesters that harass abortion patients outside of clinics. We help patients seeking abortion services by protecting them from the vitriol they are subjected to by anti-choice protesters outside of the clinic we serve. As abortion rights are being quickly eroded, this grassroots effort is needed now more than ever.
Community Support and Resources
To defend reproductive rights we will need complete and accurate information. S.W.A.N works to provide education and material resources to the community as often as possible. S.W.A.N. relies solely on volunteers to operate and protect patients and our clinic. We need folks dedicated to the struggle for reproductive rights to join us!
