Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC)
One of UAE’s largest hospitals, SSMC was established as part of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to elevate healthcare services in the Emirate. In November 2019, SEHA partnered with U.S. non-profit organization Mayo Clinic to establish a joint venture to operate SSMC. This world-class partnership reinforces SEHA’s vision for positioning Abu Dhabi as a global healthcare hub. The new facility replaces the existing Al Mafraq Hospital and now stands as one of the largest tertiary hospitals in UAE, reflecting a commitment to clinical excellence and a superior patient experience.

Specialized Rehabilitation and Infrastructure
The Abu Dhabi Medical Rehabilitation Center project involved the build out of a massive facility. The Rehabilitation Hospital renovation included 156 beds, a basement garage for up to 330 spaces, technical areas, and wards dedicated to pediatrics. The facility also contains new integrated examination, treatment and therapy concepts to ensure a fast and sustainable regaining of health and integration to the community.
