Louise D. Schleich Women’s Health Center: Comprehensive Breast Care at CHI Health St. Elizabeth
BWBR designed a comfortable, welcoming new home for women’s breast health, establishing a one-stop care setting with a comprehensive service array that was not previously available within Lincoln’s service area. The project updated the existing outpatient imaging space in the medical office building to provide comprehensive breast cancer diagnostics. As a result, the space design incorporates and supports the evolving breast center of excellence program and patient requirements.
Advanced Diagnostics and Technology
The program offers the highest level of technology and accuracy in diagnostic breast care, including education, quick and accurate mammography results, advanced 3D mammogram equipment especially designed for dense breasts, and a supportive multidisciplinary clinic (MDC) for breast cancer treatment. In addition to these services, the center also houses diagnostic facilities for:
- Breast ultrasound
- Biopsy
- MRI
The Patient Experience
The design focuses on the individual, ensuring the patient experience features convenient access with a dedicated entrance and a spa-like environment.
