Comprehensive Guide to Planned Parenthood Telehealth Online Visits
Get sexual and reproductive health care from the experts with Planned Parenthood telehealth. It’s the safe and inclusive space you trust – wherever you need it. Telehealth provides you a ‘face-to-face’ appointment through a video visit with one of our expert providers. You do not need to come into a health center for a telehealth visit. Instead, you and your provider connect from separate locations through your smartphone, computer, or tablet. We offer telehealth services in 240+ languages, including Spanish!
Available Telehealth Services
You can have an online visit with one of our providers for a wide range of services, including:
- Birth Control: We have a variety of options to access birth control without a physical exam. Shipping on birth control refills is free.
- STD Testing and Treatment: You can discuss your symptoms and best treatment course with one of our providers, without a physical exam. You can always request a home testing kit which tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis.
- General Sexual Health: From pain during sex to erectile dysfunction, we’re here to talk through any sexual and reproductive health concerns you have on your mind.
- Other Care: Emergency contraception and UTI treatment are also available via telehealth.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment
Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for your visit:
- You will need a stable internet connection on a computer, smart phone, or tablet.
- Find a secure, private space for your virtual visit.
- Be prepared to present a valid photo ID that includes your name and date of birth.
A licensed clinician will speak with you during your appointment. Just like in-person, your provider will review your medical history, review the informed consent form with you, discuss your goals, and answer any questions you may have. If the clinician determines you need to visit a local health center to drop off a sample or pick up medication, it will be quick and easy.
Insurance and Payment
Are telehealth appointments covered under my insurance? You can use most insurance plans at Planned Parenthood, including Medi-Cal and Family PACT. We’re in network for most insurance plans and have reduced or no-cost options for those who qualify. If you do not have insurance, you can still book a telehealth appointment and choose to self-pay. We also offer a sliding fee scale for patients without insurance, based on household size and income.
