Pregnancy Journey and Motherhood: Navigating the Second Pregnancy
I’m so excited to announce I’m pregnant with baby number two! T and I are beyond grateful and elated to welcome a new member to our little family and for Lake to have a sibling! The magnitude of this blessing is not lost on us and is something that we will never, ever take for granted.
Health and Pregnancy Symptoms
During my first pregnancy I was throwing up for the first 26 weeks, yes TWENTY SIX WEEKS!! Unfortunately, this pregnancy hasn't been too much better so far! I haven’t thrown up as much but the all day nausea really isn’t much better! I’ve been able to handle it a lot better this time through my knowledge of what helped last time and also by distracting myself by taking care of JuJu B! I had bouts of nausea during the second half of the first trimester. I didn’t experience any sickness at all when I was pregnant with Lake, so this was new to me. But other than that, I’ve felt really good so far.
Milestones and Key Details
I’m 30 weeks exactly today, so I’m a couple of weeks into my third trimester! When is your due date? July 15, but I likely won’t go past July 8. When did you find out you were pregnant? The day before Halloween. We already have a name picked out, but we’re keeping it a secret until birth, though; I think it’s fun to have something be a surprise at birth!

Personal Choices and Safety Protocols
Hands down, feeling baby’s movements is my favorite thing about being pregnant. It never, ever gets old. What do you miss during pregnancy? Sushi and my beloved iced matcha lattes. (I choose not to drink caffeine when I’m pregnant – just a personal choice). I feel very, very fortunate that COVID-19 hasn’t affected my pregnancy much up to this point. I’ve had all of my appointments in person and T has been able to attend all of my ultrasounds. I always wear a mask and wash and sanitize my hands frequently. When it comes to labor and delivery, time will tell what my hospital’s COVID-19 protocols will look like in July.
Preparing for the New Arrival
I’m excited to share about our pregnancy journey, all our home renovation projects, getting another nursery ready & much more! Does Lake understand you’re having a baby/she’s going to be a big sister? T and I point to my bump and tell her “there’s a baby in mommy’s belly,” but then she looks at us like we’re from another planet. I’m thinking about getting some books that may help her understand. If there’s anything specific you’d like to hear about PLEASE give me feedback by commenting on my posts!
