We offer a range of services from low intervention deliveries to complex care for mothers and babies with the greatest medical needs. Our maternity center offers a secure environment with restricted access, a separate entrance, and 24-hour security.

• A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Breastfeeding support from certified lactation consultants during your hospital stay and after discharge
• Area’s only Heart Conditions in Pregnancy program, specializing in women with cardiac care needs

Saint Luke’s Hospital is home to Saint Luke’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists, a team that manages the most complicated pregnancies, and features the only March of Dimes NICU family support program in the region.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Saint Luke's Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) are specially designed nurseries in the hospital that provide around-the-clock care to premature babies and those who need additional support. They are staffed by neonatal health care experts who have special training and equipment to provide the individualized care your baby needs. Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City offers a Level III NICU, providing specialty care for babies born at 22 weeks gestation or greater, as well as babies born with critical illness at all gestational ages.

High-Risk Pregnancy Care

The High-Risk Pregnancy Center of Kansas City is dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based obstetrical care. We specialize in treating expecting mothers who have a pre-existing medical condition prior to pregnancy, develop complications during the pregnancy related to their health or the health of the fetus, or are carrying more than one baby. Because of the advanced ultrasound skill levels provided by Dr. Lu and the staff at High-Risk Pregnancy Center of Kansas City, obstetrical providers may rely on the center to perform ultrasounds even for a healthy woman with a low-risk pregnancy.

We offer free pregnancy tests, FREE LIMITED ULTRASOUNDS (sonograms), abortion education and abortion pill education, parenting and adoption education, counseling, classes, and community referrals to women in Ks and Mo. Our services are bilingual and FREE. We are qualified by the State of Kansas to determine your eligibility for KanCare Medicaid and enroll you in a 20-minute online application at our offices and provide you IMMEDIATELY with an approval letter and KanCare number.
