Free Services and Support for Unplanned Pregnancy
Finding out you are facing an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy can be shocking and overwhelming. We can help with free, caring, and confidential support. If you think you might be pregnant, have you missed a period or taken a home test? We can help you obtain a free lab grade urine pregnancy test and written confirmation.
Step 1: Confirm Your Pregnancy
A drugstore pregnancy test is convenient, but unless the test is negative, you’ll need proof of pregnancy to verify viability and how far along you are. We can conduct a medical-grade urine pregnancy test which detects the presence of the hormone hCG, which the body produces during pregnancy. While a positive over the counter pregnancy test is a good indication of pregnancy, only an ultrasound can determine viability.
Step 2: Get a Limited Ultrasound
Your next step is getting an ultrasound at our affiliated local clinic. A limited ultrasound can be performed as early as 5.5 weeks from a woman’s last menstrual period. It is the only definitive way to diagnose a healthy, progressing pregnancy. During an ultrasound scan, a medical professional will:
- Ensure the pregnancy is occurring inside the uterus;
- Look for and measure the heart rate;
- Measure the fetus to establish an estimated due date.
This scan is quick, painless, and provides valuable information to aid in your decision-making process. You will be able to see your baby, see the heart beating and find out how far along you are. It is important to note that limited ultrasounds do not diagnose fetal abnormalities or gender.
Step 3: Learn Your Options
We care about you and respect you. Talking with you about your pregnancy options will be confidential and non-judgmental. Our goal is to help you learn about your options, your pregnancy, and your health in a pressure-free environment. Services offered with confidentiality and without discrimination include:
- Lab-grade urine pregnancy testing
- Verification of pregnancy
- Limited ultrasounds
- Consultations on pregnancy help, adoption, and pre-abortion facts and risks.
If you are considering abortion, an ultrasound is an essential step in the decision making process. Women at our center are often further along than they think. If you are more than 11 weeks pregnant, have certain health conditions, or are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy you are not eligible for the abortion pill. In some cases, the ultrasound will show a nonviable pregnancy. If you are experiencing a miscarriage, you should not take abortion pills or schedule an abortion clinic procedure.
