- Birth Control: Birth control is often a part of family planning, and we can recommend or prescribe the right birth control medicine for you, from oral medication to implanted birth control and IUDs.
- Menopause & HRT: Navigating menopause looks different for each person. Dr. Akers will evaluate your current symptoms to determine the right treatment for you, so that you can find relief from things like night sweats, hot flashes, chills, sleep issues, and a slowed metabolism.
- STDs & Infections: Whether it’s common infections like chlamydia, gonorrhea or more complex issues, we provide confidential consultation, precise diagnosis, and effective treatments. If you’re feeling discomfort or a burning sensation while urinating, you may be experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI).
- Vaginal Health: Abnormal discharge might be a sign of various health conditions, including bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections. Our mission is to empower you with knowledge and treatment, promoting preventative care for long-term well-being.

Diagnostic Testing and Labwork
Preventative care is one of the hallmarks of good healthcare, but it’s especially important within women’s health and reproductive care. We begin by measuring your vital biomarkers to establish a baseline for your health. Dr. Akers can check for:
- Progesterone and estradiol
- Total and free testosterone
- CBC (including DIFF/PLT)
- Thyroid stimulating hormones
The results can help confirm pregnancy, track menopause, detect hormonal imbalances, and understand the cause of potential reproductive health issues. With consistent screenings and yearly doctor’s visits, you can catch serious issues like breast cancer, cervical cancer, and STDs before they become worse.
