Comprehensive Women’s Health and Sexual Health Services
As a woman, you go through a number of life stages. From puberty to your reproductive years to menopause and beyond, your body and mind undergo a wide array of changes over time. During each stage of life, your health and wellness remain key factors in establishing a strong foundation for a healthy present and future. At Northern Light Health, we recognize that the stage you’re in plays a crucial role in your health needs. Taking charge of your health when you’re young looks different than it does with age. We’re here with you on your journey through the ages and stages of womanhood, including helping you stay on top of health screenings, access necessary health services, and navigating the speed bumps.
Health Screenings Through Life Stages
Adolescence to Mid-20s
The transition from a girl to young woman is a major one. It comes with a wide range of changes in your body and mind, from your first menstrual period to the rapid development of your body, navigating school, new career, or complex relationships. These are the years to give extra care and attention to your physical and mental wellness, starting with routine gynecological exams, STI prevention, cervical cancer screening, and family planning.
Mid-20s to Menopause
You’re in a groove, and you know your body. This stage includes setting a healthy foundation for the future, with routine screenings for heart, breast, cervical, and mental health. It may also involve abnormal menstrual cycle, family planning, and general reproductive health. Toward the end of this stage, you may feel the effects of perimenopause and menopause. By prioritizing your health, you will keep your body and mind strong now and in the years to come.
Menopause and Beyond
Growing older is a blessing. Additional health screenings (such as for osteoporosis), will be performed. You can also expect discussions with your provider regarding decreased bladder control, reduced libido, and other symptoms of menopause. Shifts in your physical abilities (such as reduced balance or physical fitness), and changes in your relationships all play a role in how you feel, both physically and mentally.
