Comprehensive Overview of Specialized Women’s Health and Sexual Health Services
Our highly experienced and well-trained staff provide comfort, support and understanding along with the highest quality medical services. Red River Women’s Clinic and Women’s Clinic of Atlanta are dedicated to patient care. Specifically, Women’s Clinic of Atlanta is a champion for women’s health in the Atlanta area and has provided sexual health and abortion screening services to women facing unplanned and unwanted pregnancy for over 20 years.
Patient Support and Safety Protocols
Our patients’ security and confidentiality are of greatest importance to us. All of our patient records are confidential. When visiting the Moorhead location, you may notice protesters standing on the sidewalk or near the driveway. However, they are not allowed into our private parking lot. To assist you, our volunteer escorts, who wear rainbow vests, will help you find the Main Entrance and offer you support as you enter. We advise that you keep your windows rolled up, do not stop when driving into the lot and find a parking spot.
Regarding the clinical environment, we do everything possible to ease your stress by creating relaxing environments in our waiting and exam rooms. Furthermore, Red River Women’s Clinic is an ally to our LGBTQIA+ patients. We will use your preferred name when addressing you (we may need your legal name for insurance purposes). We ask all of our patients for their pronouns and want to be respectful to all patients needing our care, regardless of how they identify.
Medical Services and Procedures
Licensed medical professionals are on staff at both of our clinics, and a diverse group of medical experts oversee all our women’s services. These experts include:
- Nurse Practitioners
- OB/GYN
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers)
- Registered Nurses
- Radiologists
Regarding clinical procedures, each patient has an ultrasound done on the day of their abortion. This limited ultrasound is to determine that the pregnancy is in your uterus and within our gestational limits. Each patient is given the option to view or to not view their ultrasound. Each patient who has a procedure abortion will receive some medications and then wait in a comfortable seating area. These medications include an antibiotic, ibuprofen and the optional mild sedation medication(s). Procedure abortion patients will spend some time in our Recovery Room where they will be monitored by a nurse and sent home when they meet the discharge criteria.

Consultation and Appointments
Each patient meets one-on-one with a Patient Advocate to discuss: their decision, support system, birth control options and to answer any questions they might have. We are committed to partnering with our patients and offering support without judgment or manipulation. Due to space constraints, we are limiting entrance into our building to patients only. Your support person, family member or friend will need to wait outside for you. Appointments are available by phone and text. To get in touch, you may call Decatur at (404) 377-6640, Johns Creek at (404) 937-3334, or the Red River clinic at 218-477-3191.
