Greendale House: Embracing the Journey Through Compassionate Palliative Care
At Greendale House, previously known as HospiceWits, we believe in embracing every individual's journey through life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses with warmth and understanding. HospiceWits recently celebrated 45 years of providing palliative and hospice care services to the greater Johannesburg community. Beyond medical treatments, we see each person as a cherished part of a larger story, woven with love, family, and community.
The Intersection of Medical Expertise with Compassionate Care
We provide support and care through a holistic multi-disciplinary team approach with the provision of Palliative care to all in need. Within the walls of our In-Patient Unit, and through our home-visiting nurses, we offer a comforting sanctuary where life is celebrated, memories are made, and hearts find solace. This approach is essential when facing a diagnosis like testicular cancer, where the path forward can seem overwhelming, ensuring patients know they don’t have to face the journey alone.
Current Operations and Facilities
While we prepare to build our new facility in Upper Houghton, our Inpatient Unit at 50 Second Avenue, Houghton Estate, continues to operate without any disruptions. Our Orange Grove Thrift Shop remains open despite the sale of the building, though refurbishments are planned for 2025.
