The UCC Urgent Care Centre group of clinics are an alternative to a hospital emergency department. We offer immediate care and treatment for patients who have non life-threatening illnesses or injuries along with other Primary Care Services. If you are experiencing severe pains, potentially life threatening problems or severe injuries, you should go to the nearest Hospital Emergency Room directly or dial 911.
Walk-In Urgent Care Services
Walk-in Urgent Care provides treatment for patients who have non-life threatening illnesses or injuries. This is a convenient option when:
- Your Family Doctor’s office has closed
- You are unable to see your Family Doctor
- You are not registered with a Family Doctor
- Your condition is not an emergency, but you would like to see a doctor
Services include:
- Coughs and colds and Flu shots
- Work and Sport Related Injuries
- Wart Treatment, Sprains & Fractures
- Ear Pain and Eye Injuries
- Casting & Stitches
- Immunizations & Allergy Shots
- Skin Rashes and Minor Burns
- STI Treatment
Specialized Medical Clinics
Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic
UCC operates a weekly fracture clinic at the Brampton East Site run by Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Hai-Feng Ren. Fractures initially managed by our UCC physicians are then referred to the fracture clinic for further care. We offer a variety of casting and splinting options.
Lump and Bumps Clinic
Dr. Thasvir Gayaprashad operates a weekly clinic at the Etobicoke site. He will see patients who need any of the following procedures:
- Mole removal and Skin tags removal
- Sebaceous cysts removal and Lipoma removal
- Ingrown toenails/oncogryphotic toenails excision/resection
- Simple biopsies and Foreign body removal
- Ganglion cyst drainage and Steroid knee injections
Cardiology and Internal Medicine
UCC is able to organize initial cardiology assessments and specialized care through our alliance with Cardiologists working at iHealth and other referral centres. Dr. Andrew Ramadeen is an Internal Medicine Specialist who can see a range of consults including: Chest pain, Hypertension, Diabetes, and Shortness of breath.
Naturopathic Care
UCC operates a satellite naturopathic teaching clinic of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Student interns work under the supervision of licensed naturopathic doctors to provide care in areas such as diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular concerns, anxiety/depression, and insomnia.
Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN)
From Pap smears and pregnancy care to menopause management, we offer every OBGYN service you may need throughout your life. The obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) specialists at University of Iowa Health Care are skilled at preventing, diagnosing, and treating gynecologic conditions. We provide pregnancy care tailored to you, including maternal-fetal medicine providers who specialize in high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
Our specialists offer expertise in:
- Innovative gynecologic cancer care: Comprehensive care and support for cervical cancer and ovarian cancer.
- Pelvic floor disorders: Treatments for uterine prolapse or urinary incontinence.
- Advanced infertility treatments: Intrauterine insemination (IUI), egg freezing, and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
