Comprehensive Healthcare Services at MMC Family Medicine and Florida Family Clinic
MMC Family Medicine Clinic is part of the MMC Family Medicine Residency Program. As a core component of the program, MMC Family Medicine Clinic will provide comprehensive care for the entire family in all phases of life. Providers at the FMC are resident doctors who want to specialize in Family Medicine and are mentored by experienced Family Medicine Physicians. This system provides continuity with patients, and allows the resident to develop a professional relationship with patients over time, observe progression of disease, and improve the quality of their own care.
Goals of the Family Medicine Residency Program
We want to work to improve access to health care in the southwest area of Puerto Rico. To achieve this, the program has established the following goals:
- Provide an opportunity for Family Medicine Residents to help patients with their health care while gaining valuable residency experience.
- Get to know and care for patients in a continuity clinic setting.
- Offer a range of health care for all ages.
- Offer affordable care and a low-income clinic to our Puerto Rican communities.
- Provide ongoing care for chronic and acute illnesses in the outpatient setting to a population of patients with which physicians have an ongoing continuity relationship.
- Offer continued care to patients admitted to the hospital.
